Making Kawaii Inspired Rainbows

Ever since I was young, I have always loved Kawaii-themed items. I have had Kawaii pencil cases, erasers, folders, and so much more over the years. I just love these cute items’ overall appearance and the colors used to make them look even more aesthetically pleasing.

It is the reason why these Kawaii inspired rainbows are one of my favorite crafts to make with the kids. There are a few good reasons to make these rainbows.

Aside from the finished pieces looking so good, you can do a lot with these rainbows. You might want to attach a pin to the back of them and wear them with your clothes or put them on a backpack.

Aside from placing a pin on the back of these rainbows, you can always glue a magnet to them and put them on the fridge or any other magnetic surface. You might even want to attach a string to them and hang them up for decorative purposes.

Have Fun and Learn While Making Kawaii Inspired Rainbows

While having cute Kawaii inspired rainbows to put around the home or office is a good enough reason to complete this craft, the other good reason is to help your children learn more. Children will learn more about their colors, counting, and how to cut properly when working on this craft. So, if you are like me and always looking to turn something fun into a learning experience, this is a craft worth doing with the kids.

Items Needed to Create Kawaii Inspired Rainbows

Before you start this craft with the kids, make sure you have some essential items with you to put the rainbows together with ease. The most important items to have include:

  • Craft felt in pastel shades because you will use the felt to create these rainbows
  • Wiggle eyes that you can easily get at the dollar store to create an even more adorable appearance
  • Glue gun for gluing on the eyes and any magnets that you might place on the backs of the rainbows
  • Kawaii inspired rainbow pattern sheet to follow and use throughout the crafting process (download below)

If you already have these items, you are good to go. If not, you can easily find them both online and offline at craft stores and possibly even your local dollar store.

How to Get the Kids Ready to Make Kawaii Inspired Rainbows

Show your children what the finished rainbows will look like when they finish the craft. They might fall in love with these adorable rainbows just as quickly as I did!

After you show them what you want to make with them, supply the children with safety scissors and an open area where each child has plenty of room to put their rainbows together. Handle the hot glue gun on your own to prevent burn injuries amongst the children.
