I cannot begin to tell you how many times I had read The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle to my kids when they were young. This beloved children’s book follows the life of a caterpillar as he eats his way through the days of the week. While eating his way through a different fruit each day of the week, this hungry caterpillar suddenly finds himself transformed into a beautiful butterfly.
I love the lessons this book teaches…counting, days of the week, and the basic life cycle of a butterfly. This Very Hungry Caterpillar Puppet Craft is a fun paper craft for kids. It is an easy craft for preschool or early elementary school kids. This is a great craft to enhance your school curriculum, lesson plans, or homeschool lessons too.

Step 2:
Stick the eyes, mouth and antenna on the red colored round cutout.
Step 3:
Start to stick the green round cutouts in a row. Make sure to create a curved line with the green round cutouts.
Step 4:
Done sticking all the green patterns? Attach the legs along the bottom side of the green pattern row.
Step 5:
To make the caterpillar craft sturdier I’ve attached a cardstock paper base on the backside of the caterpillar craft.
Step 6:
Now attach the paper caterpillar on a popsicle stick to complete the craft. Similarly, trace, cut out and join the fruit patterns to make the fruit sticks.
